St. Dymphna was an ordinary young woman whose extraordinary faith led her to give her life for the love of God. After the death of her mother, she fled her homeland to preserve her purity and her devotion to Christ. When her father’s anger overtook him, Dymphna met her death with courage and holiness, offering her suffering to God.

The Church remembers her as the patroness of those who struggle with mental illness, anxiety, and emotional pain. Through her intercession, many have found comfort, healing, and renewed peace of mind.
